Birthline of San Diego
Jun 17, 2016
Birthline is a crisis oriented program which provides emotional support, material assistance and referrals to other community resources for any pregnant woman, as well as women and single fathers with small children. We at Birthline recognize that choices made regarding an unplanned pregnancy can have a life long effect on all of those involved. As a result, our counselors offer practical assistance and referrals to support them in their decisions. Birthline has beautiful choices to offer. Choices that will benefit not only the parents, but the child as well. |

Service above Self (including donation of my kidney!)
Oct 28, 2016
Scott joined the Sunrise Rotary Club of North Whidbey Island, on the Puget Sound in District 5050, in 2001 - but became a “Rotarian” on a wheelchair distribution trip to Mexico years later. A recipient of Rotary International’s “Service Above Self” Award, he’s a Major Donor and a member of both the Paul Harris Society and Rotary Foundation’s Bequest Society. He manages an investment office in Oak Harbor, Washington, where he’s also served as the Mayor – and has completed 21 marathons, the last in July. |

The Center for Justice & Reconciliation
Dec 02, 2016
There's an ugly truth in our beautiful area - we're a hot spot for human trafficking. The Center for Justice & Reconciliation is a regional and national voice confronting the crisis. Dr. Jamie Gates will discuss the connection between gangs and sex trafficking in San Diego. He and Kim Berry-Jones will tell how Point Loma Nazarene University is engaging in solutions, with a scholarship for survivors and a prevention and awareness curriculum in local high schools. |
