Jim Hamerly

Summary: Unknown to most, the climate of Palomar Mountain is ideal for Giant Sequoia trees and they thrive there. Jim Hamerly has the largest grove in southern California with about 70 trees grown from seed and has located and cataloged another 200+ trees on the Mountain.

Bio: Jim Hamerly has a passion for growing sequoias on his 20 acre property on Palomar Mountain and also distributes them to neighboring properties. Prior to his forestry work, Jim has over thirty years of business experience, fifteen as an entrepreneur, fifteen doing corporate research and venturing in large corporations. Over fifteen years of academic experience, including as dean of a business school.
