USS MIDWAY Operation Frequent Wind (evacuation during fall of Saigon in 1975)

Rafe is part of the MIDWAY Speakers Bureau, and is a retired Naval Aviator who flew 200+ combat missions in Vietnam as member of VA-155 off USS Oriskany (CVA-34) and was later Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron 146 (VA-146).  He retired from the Navy in 1993 as Chief-of-Staff for Commander Strike Fighter Wing Pacific at NAS Lemoore CA.  After a couple of year doing training support for the F/A-18 he spent 15 years working for Fedex and retired as a B-727 Captain in 2011.  He has been a Midway Docent for 3 years.
