Our speaker on April 30th was Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), which promotes Muslim voices for liberty and freedom through the separation of mosque and state in order to counter the root cause of Islamist terrorism--the ideology of political Islam (Islamism) and its belief in the supremacy of the Islamic state. . Dr. Jasser is a religious and political commentator who is also a medical doctor specializing in internal medicine and nuclear cardiology in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a former Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, where he served for 11 years, both at sea and in multiple high level staff positions, including Staff Internist in the Office of the Attending Physician of the United States Congress.
