Our guest speaker on Friday the 1st was Councilmember Jennifer Campbell, newly elected to the San Diego City Council representing District 2.  "Dr. Jen" provided us an opportunity to discuss community concerns such as homelessness, street parking, and other areas of interest.  We thank her for her time and insights.
We also had the opportunity to listen to Jacqueline Wheeler, a Point Loma High School junior and our representative at the district's Instrumental Music Competition.  Jacqueline captivatted us with her wonderful flute playing.  She was also accompanied by her grandmother Jeri Wheeler - who's late husband Dick was a member of PLRC for many years - and her parents Rich and Verma Wheeler.  We are looking forward to the competition on March 19th.
Finally, we also welcomed Warren Branges and Doug Smay from the US Submarine Veterans, who oversee the 52 Boat Memorial in Liberty Station, to accept our donation, and Lisa Nokes from the Peninsula Shepherd's Center to discuss the great work that  the center does supporting the peninsula's senior citizen community.  Pictured is Warren Branges and Prez Alex.
