SDPD Chief Shelley Zimmerman at PLRC mtg on Feb 24

 

Chief Shelley Zimmerman, Chief of Police for the City of San Diego, gave an outstanding presentation, outlining her career and how she sees the current environment of policing; she discussed the various propositions that impact law enforcement state wide and relating these initiatives back to our responsibility to vote and let our elected representatives know our positions.  Specifically, she discussed Prop 47 (Reducing various crimes from felonies to misdemeanors); Prop 57 (Parole of non-violent criminals to reduce the prison overcrowding); and Prop 64 (Marijuana legalization).  We thank the Chief for her time and allowing us to participate in this highly informative discussion.
